Citizens of the city of Al-Fashir, capital of North Darfur State denounce the flogging of girls in the streets and markets by the military police under allegation of not abiding to an Islamic dress code. Three female university students and women employees were randomly stopped nearby Hajr Gado market in central Al-Fshir, under allegations of “indecent clothing” and subsequently flogged by the military police which is entrusted with securing the city. Lawyers, citizens and social media activists condemned the “flogging campaign” as the move subscribed to “violation of people’s rights” demanding an immediate investigation of the incident and brining perpetrators to justice. A lawyer of one of the victims said that “the girl suffered a nervous breakdown and was crying as she was flogged by one of members of the force who lashed her 10 to 15 times on different parts of her body”. The lawyer added that “this incident is clear violation of the law and must be investigated”.

استنكر مواطنون من مدينة الفاشر عاصمة ولاية شمال دارفور، قيام قوات الشرطة العسكرية بجلد الفتيات في الأسواق والشارع العام بتهمة لبسهن زي غير إسلامي.
وتعرضت ثلاث طالبات جامعيات وموظفات أثناء ذهابهن الي قاعات الدراسة والعمل بالفاشر إلى توقيف عشوائي بتهمة "إرتداء الزي الفاضح" لتنفيذ عليهن عقوبة الجلد من الشرطة العسكرية الموكل إليها تأمين مدينة الفاشر بالقرب من سوق حجر قدو وسط المدينة .
فيما استنكر المحامين والمواطنين بجانب نشطاء في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي "حملة الجلد" وصفوا الخطوة بأنها "انتهاك لأعراض الناس". مطالبين بإجراء تحقيق فوري حول الحادثة وتقديم منفذي الحملة للعدالة.
وقال محامي أحد ضحايا القمع "إن الفتاة أصيبت بانهيار عصبي و انتابتها نوبة من البكاء أثناء عملية الجلد التي نفذتها القوة بعد أن قام أحد عناصرها بجلدها 10 الى 15 جلدة في أماكن مختلفة من جسدها".وتابع "هذه الحادثة تعتبر خرق واضح للقانون وواجب التحقيق فيها".
