مظاهرات في بورتسودان احتجاجا على عدم توفر مياه الشرب والكهرباء

أغلق متظاهرون من أهالي حي كوريا ببورتسودان يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 13 يونيو الطريق الرئيسي الذي يربط الحي بالسوق احتجاجاً على أزمة المياه الحادة و الانقطاع التام للتيار الكهربائي عن المدينة لأكثر من يوم . وقال شهود إن المتظاهرين أشعلوا النار في إطارات السيارات وأغلقوا الطريق بالحجارة ، و اوضحوا ان المواطنين تجمهروا في الطريق الرئيسي وحملوا لافتات وهتفوا مطالبين بالكهرباء والمياه. وذكر مواطنون إن سعر جوز الماء في بورتسودان ارتفع إلى 20 جنيهاً، بينما تراوح سعر لوح الثلج من 320 – 400 جنيه . و أوضح الشهود إن قوات الشرطة فرقت المتظاهرين بإطلاق الغاز المسيل للدموع. فيما ظل التيار الكهربائي منقطع في جميع أحياء المدينة لليوم الثاني على التوالي بالرغم من تصريحات إدارة الكهرباء بحل المشكلة.
Shortage of piped water and electricity leads to riots

Port Sudan
The city of Port Sudan was completely shut down of 13th June due to violent riots that broke out in the suburb of Curia due to shortage of water supply and the disconnection of electricity for more than two days. This led to the sudden hike in priced for commodities such as a pair of twenty-liter jerry cans of water were sold at 20,000 Sudanese Pounds and a block of ice was sold as 400,000 Sudanese Pounds.
This sudden inflation sparked up riots and the residents of the Curia placed roadblocks on the roads using boulders and burned car tyres and the police dispersed of the mob using tear gas.
Despite the fact that the authorities in the State promised to fix the issue, nothing was done so far.
