اعتقلت قوة مشتركة مكونة من جهاز الأمن والجيش الناشط أدم سليمان من منطقة قريضة الواقعة جنوب مدينة نيالا عاصمة ولاية جنوب دارفور .وقال شاهد فضل حجب هويته " أن القوة المشتركة اقتحمت السوق و اعتقلت على الفور الناشط آدم سليمان دون إبراز أي مذكرة توقيف أو توضيح الأسباب . فيما اعتدت عليه بالضرب المبرح على الملأ بالسوق أثناء اعتقاله . مستخدمين في ذلك أعقاب البنادق ما أدى لسقوطه على الأرض. ومضى قائلاً "نقل آدم إلى مكاتب جهاز الأمن تعرض فيها للضرب باسلاك الكهرباء حتى فقد وعيه وسقط مغشيا عليه، وبعد تدهور حالته الصحية ودخوله في حالة غيبوبة قام جهاز الأمن بنقل آدم مستشفى قريضة.

An anonymous source that witnessed the event reported that a joint taskforce of the military and the national security intelligence suddenly arrived and grabbed, Adam Suleiman as he walked in Giredah market. Despite not having a warrant, they forcefully detained him and he was beaten using the base of their guns and batons.
They then took him to the detention center where they proceeded to torture him using electric wires until he fell into a coma. It was not until then that they took him to Giredah hospital.
