مظاهرات بالأبيض إحتجاجاً على انقطاع الإمداد المائي

خرج مواطني حي الصحوة بالأبيض صباح اليوم الموافق 21 يونيو في تظاهرة منددة إحتجاجا على إنقطاع الإمداد المائي عن الحي لفترة طويلة . وقال مصدر هجب هويته أنه "قد تم ربط فاتورة الماء مع الكهرباء وألزموا المواطنين بسداد فاتورة الماء عند شراء الكهرباء، إلا أن هيئة توفير المياه فشلت في توفير المياه لأهالي الحي ، فاندلعت مظاهرات كبيرة تصدت لها الأجهزة الأمنية وقوات الشرطة بعنف مفرط وقد تم إستخدام الغاز المسيل للدموع وتم نقل بعض المواطنين للحوادث وتم إعتقال العشرات في قسم مباحث شيكان لم يتم التعرف عليهم بعد ، كما إعتقال الأستاذ / محمد سليمان أحمد ( تلي ) لدي جهاز الأمن والمخابرات بمدينة الأبيض ".

Riots breakout in Obeid over piped water disconnections

The residents of the town of Obeid staged riots due to the prolonged disconnection of piped water in their residences. The authorities in charge of the amenities in the town passed a law that con-joined the water and electricity bills. For one to obtain water, one had to clear both bills to get either of the two.
Despite the fact that the residents cleared both bills, they were still unable to get piped water which angered those affected thus sparking riots.
The police dispersed the riots using tear gas and rubber bullets, injuring some who were taken to the hospital and arrested many others. Among those apprehended were; Muhammad Suleiman Ahmad who is known by his nickname Talle.
